Arriving by train

We would encourage people to cycle or use public transport as buses and trains run regularly to within 20-30 minutes walk (through Stanmer Park) to the lawns in front of the church.

Stanmer Park is located near Falmer, on the outskirts of Brighton, next to the University of Sussex. Earthship Brighton is difficult to find and council security gates en route may be locked - the tour guide will be waiting for you on the lawns or 'green' in front of Stanmer House so please make every effort to be prompt.

By train:

Purchase your ticket through to Falmer Station, which is close to the main entrance to Stanmer Park. Pedestrian access is through the underpass under the main road. Turn left when you come out of the underpass and carry on until you reach the park entrance on the right (there are two small lodges either side of the driveway). Turn into the park and walk upto Stanmer House.  Please note that it takes 20 to 30 minutes to walk from Falmer station to Stanmer House.

If you are travelling via London and the West you will need to change trains at Brighton Station for Falmer.

Falmer Station can also be reached from London and the east via Lewes, using the same local train service but in the opposite direction. Falmer Station is well served by frequent local trains that run between Brighton and Lewes - the journey to Falmer Station from Brighton or Lewes takes about 10 minutes.

It is advisable to check that services at the weekend are not affected by engineering works; on such occasions replacement bus services are provided but journey times are considerably longer. Click here for train information.
